Dear CarasaLab family members, this CODE OF CONDUCT establishes the standards of action designed to guarantee that the products and services offered are of high quality, born from our passion for what we do and professional, ethic and responsibly manufactured.

Principles of CarasaLab

Guided by our values, we establish the rules of action so that our products not only offer quality in the result, but to also be made with quality.

In this sense, and being fully aware of our social responsibility, our principles include, the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, among other.

  • All the activities that we perform at CarasaLab are carried out in an ethical and responsible way, always complying with the applicable legislation.
  • We are professionals: we act diligently, responsibly and efficiently, focused on quality and innovation.
  • We act with integrity: we act legally, honestly, objectively and in line with our principles and policies.
  • We support, respect and collaborate in the protection of Human Rights.
  • We collaborate and promote practices in favor of environmental protection.
  • We do not accept or support practices of corruption, extortion or bribery.

We respect people

  • We treat people fairly, openly and with respect.
  • We apply candidate’s selection criteria based on transparency, objectivity and respect for equal opportunities.
  • We do not professionally collaborate with anyone who is not over 16 years of age.
  • We reject all forms of discrimination: race, physical disability, illness, religion, sexual orientation, political opinion, age, nationality or gender.
  • We prohibit and report all forms of physical, sexual, psychological or verbal harassment or abuse, as well as any other conduct that could create an intimidating, offensive or hostile work environment.

We respect our members

  • We offer equal opportunities regarding access to employment, training, promotion, salary and working conditions and access to goods, services and supplies.
  • We reject manifestations of violence, harassment or abuse.
  • We respect people’s right to privacy, personal communications through the Internet and the rest of the media.
  • We respect the personal and family life of our people, promoting work-life balance policies.
  • The working hours will abide by the provisions of the state collective agreement for perfumery and the like in force at all times, not exceeding the established limits in any case. Overtime will always be voluntary and paid in accordance with the aforementioned agreement.
  • We manage a continuous training policy, developing individualized training plans according to the needs of CarasaLab and the established priorities to maximize our members skills development.
  • We evaluate people rigorously and objectively, based on their individual and collective professional performance.
  • We formally recognize the right of people to unionize, to freely associate and to bargain collectively.
  • We promote communication at all levels as a basic element of the company’s operation.
  • We establish a remuneration system that ensures employees, based on their responsibility, commitment, efficiency, dedication and enthusiasm, income in line with their performance.

We take care of our people

  • The safety and health of the members of CarasaLab is a priority.
  • The regulations regarding the safety of our employees are duly observed and must be strictly complied by both: CarasaLab and each employee.
  • Complying with the established occupational risk prevention regulations, we have an external service, which carries out the risk assessment of the positions and facilities, and we take the corresponding protective actions.

We are committed as CarasaLab’s employees

  • We respect the working environment legislation, among others: no consumption of alcohol or prohibited substances during business hours labor and application of the Anti-Tobacco Law.
  • We comply with occupational health and safety regulations to prevent and minimize occupational risks.
  • We commit by writing to keep people’s and companies sensible and personal data confidential.
  • Permanent updating of our knowledge and the use of training actions.
  • Make responsible use of the media and other means that we have available.

We try to avoid conflicts of interest

At CarasaLab we try to avoid situations that may give rise to conflicts of interest in which the personal interests of employees may interfere with the interests of the company, either because it makes it difficult to carry out their work objectively or because they directly receive improper benefits or through people linked as a result of their position in the company.

  • Private interests: when it affects the employee or partner, a family member of the employee or partner and entities with which the employee is linked.
  • Situations of potential conflict: situations where employees are or get personally or familiarly involved in agreements and transactions in which CarasaLab participates.

In the event of a potential situation of conflict of interest, it must be brought to the attention of the company as soon as possible

We care about the environment around us

As a company, we know that we also have an obligation to the environment. For this reason, we are committed to the sustainable development of the company, promoting the protection of the environment and having an eye on a circular economy model.

  • We recycle.
  • We use more recycled and recyclable materials, day by day.
  • We are committed to energy efficiency.

We also try find our suppliers as close as possible to us, this way we collaborate in the nearby economy and, at the same time, since the journeys are shorter, fewer resources are required for transport and less carbon emissions are produced.

We reject bribery and corruption

Corruption, including extortion and bribery, is illegal and unethical. It constitutes considerable risks for our employees and our company. Therefore, it is not an option or an acceptable practice, even if it means a loss of income.
We consider that corrupt behavior is made up of payments for achievement and/or outside of legal agreements, gifts, bribes and financial incentives. We exercise restraint in accepting and offering gifts and other gratuities (including dinners and lunches). Any such action should never take a form that exceeds hospitality, manners and usual business courtesy.

We do not practice tax evasion

  • The tax laws of each country are binding on us and therefore must be strictly adhered to.
  • All employees should be aware that tax offenses can be prosecuted. This applies equally to the company and the individual employee.
  • We consent and encourage exhaustive inspections by tax authorities to be carried out and increased to combat tax crimes.

We believe in fair competition

  • Only free and fair competition can be accepted.
  • We do not enter into any agreements with competitors regarding our business practices.
  • We comply with the laws on the protection of competition.
  • We specifically prohibit any agreement on prices or terms, and the distribution of markets and regions, the allocation of clients and the coordination of quoting, development and production strategies. Even the exchange of information with competitors that could form the basis for coordinated behavior (particularly with respect to prices, costs, margins, terms, customers, quotes, product development and manufacturing capacity) cannot be tolerated and is strictly prohibited. Any violation of these prohibitions is persecuted and can lead to sanctions that can endanger the existence of our company.

We respect the international trade rules

International trade is beneficial for CarasaLab. Therefore, it is our interest to support compliance with the pertinent regulations. Accordingly, we comply with existing import and export regulations, we obtain the necessary permits, and we pay any applicable duties and taxes. The authorities periodically verify compliance with these regulations. Severe penalties can be imposed in case of violation.

We safeguard and respect intellectual and industrial property

Patents, trademarks, concepts, ideas, designs, formulas, methods and the “know-how” are all forms of property and are therefore protected by law.

  • We have a confidentiality agreement with all CarasaLab employees.
  • CarasaLab members have expressly prohibited using information without the written agreement, rights or license signed by the owner.
  • We sign confidentiality agreements with our suppliers, clients and third parties that need to be involved.
  • The intellectual and industrial property resulting from the work of the employees during their stay at CarasaLab, which is related to the present and future business of CarasaLab, will be the property of the company.
  • Only duly authorized brands, images and texts will be used in marketing and advertising.

We practice the coordinated communication

This CODE OF CONDUCT is binding for all members of CarasaLab.
It can be based on and complemented by regulations, formations and training sessions on particular topics.

  • Shareholders and Managers must be an example of conduct and are the first point of contact for our employees regarding correct behavior.
  • Within each employee’s area of ​​responsibility, it is his/her task to ensure compliance with the code of conduct.
  • Specific questions about the Code of Conduct or correct behavior can be directed to immediate superiors or to General Management. (Contacts are provided at the end.)

Disciplinary regime

When the Direction determines that a CarasaLab member has carried out activities that contravene the provisions of the law or this CODE OF CONDUCT, disciplinary measures will be applied in accordance with the regime of offenses and sanctions provided for in current regulation.

Requirements to establish a business collaboration with CarasaLab

In our business relations with customers, suppliers and any other person, company or organization which we collaborate with,

  • At CarasaLab, we commit to comply with all the above mentioned being as accessible as possible, with the aim that relations work under the principles of cooperation and transparency.
  • We share this Code of Conduct through our Carasalab.com website and we value our collaborators also comply with it as far as possible.

Any person who, while carrying out his/her activity at CarasaLab, has suspicions or proof of behaviors that do not comply with the principles of this CODE OF CONDUCT must notify their superior or other trusted personnel.
